INTRODUCTION

Laptop computers are a much greater challenge than a regular desk-mounted computer monitor and keyboard when it comes to creating a correct ergonomic work environment. If you are an occasional laptop user or someone who only uses it for an hour or so a day, maintaining an ergonomic station will be less of an issue. For frequent or full-time users, however, it is important to set your equipment up on one of the heights adjustable laptop computer stands at the right height and angle. Correct computer user posture also helps avoid health problems frequently associated with computer use.

They like laptop computer because they can travel with it if they need to or they can be up on their bed with it. They also like those kinds of options. With having wireless internet, they can be anywhere in the house and still be able to be online. Years ago it was not this way, but with all these changes, it helps everyone to do what they need to do.


PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

This is Compaq Evo N610c laptop and its system type is a notebook. It built-in devices with a microphone, stereo speakers, keyboard, and touchpad. Its width, depth and height is 31.8 cm, 24.5 cm and 5.8 cm respectively. This laptop is quite heavy, which is 3.6 kg. It comes out with only one colour which is black. This computer laptop is manufacture in German.

The memory that can be stored in this laptop is only 256 MB and its hard drive is 30 GB. It optical drive is only CD. This computer laptop’s sound is ESS Allegro Audio with integrated stereo speakers. Beside the keyboard is standard, the pointing device is Dual Pointing device which consists both Pointstick and TouchPad. The type of battery that used in this computer laptop is Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) with the capacity of 3.1 Ah. This battery has a good battery life. This computer can be used in a long time without the need to change the battery.

Win XP Pro is used as software for this computer laptop. The warranty for buying this laptop is only for six months. The quality of a laptop is not depending on its warranty but on its function. This computer laptop is refurbished by USA Notebook.  Its operating system of this Compaq Evo N610c is Microsoft Windows 95.

REASON FOR CHOOSING THIS PRODUCT

I choose this product because it is less bought by consumers. This product only recommended for businessmen. This product cannot be bought by a university student because this computer laptop has functioned only for business. There have not many choices for them to choose this product especially their colour, size and shape. This computer laptop especially Compaq Evo N610c laptop is produced in black colour only and with the same size.

Less promotion about this product to all country is another reason why I choose this product. People will have less information about this product and it will become less popular with the consumer. This computer laptop’s company make less promotion in a big town and also a small town. This company also make less advertisement through television and radio because the cost for advertising through that channels are very expensive. This company might think that making promotion will increase their budget and this will lead to insufficient of their money.

Besides, this company sold their products in certain computer’s shop which is unknown by customers and situated at unstrategic places. Unstrategic places meant the place that customer not usually pass by and they do not know the presence of that place. This will give difficult to this computer laptop’s company to sell their product to customers especially to their new consumers. This company’s product will less be known by people who really need a computer laptop for their use. This unfamiliar product among people attracts me to choose this product as my task. 

SWOT ANALYSIS

Strength

There are many strength in this computer laptop which attracts more customers and potential consumers to buy this laptop. One of the strengths of this computer laptop is its price. The price for this laptop is quite cheap and affordable for the customer to buy it. The customer with low income can also buy this laptop for their usage. The other strength of this laptop is the features that available in it. This computer laptop has various features that need by a customer especially for those who are working in the business field. The Compaq Evo Notebook N610c is the ultimate balance of mobility and technology besides is designed for the customer who wants a thin, light, and durable laptop.

Weaknesses

There are more weaknesses in this computer laptop as compared to its strength. The first weaknesses is this laptop is only recommended for businessmen or other customers who works in the business field. There will be less in customer because only businessmen who can buy this laptop. Other people such as the university’s student, lecturer or school’s teacher can’t buy this computer laptop according to the specific features of this laptop. They will find another brand of computer laptops which is suitable for them. Besides, this computer laptop comes out with only one colour which is black. Although the black colour looks nice, this company should consider the customer desire in choosing their favourite colour. Other weaknesses of this company are less promotion of their products. This computer laptop’s company which is Compaq make less promotion about this laptop in our country and other small countries. If they make promotion in a big town such as Kuala Lumpur, they just make promotion once a year. All people will have less or no information about this laptop. They will find another brand of computer laptop that can substitute this laptop such as Dell, Acer, Toshiba or Fujitsu, if they have no information about Compaq’s laptop.

Opportunities

This computer laptop company have many opportunities in order to increase the quantity buyer of Compaq’s computer laptop especially Compaq Evo N610c which is nowadays less known by peoples. One of this company’s opportunity is, they should produce a different colour and size of computer laptop, customers will have many choices to fulfill their needs. For example, a small laptop is suitable for those who always use the laptop and want to bring it along with them. This company should not segment their product according to the occupation of customers. This company should produce a computer laptop that suitable for customers who are in the business field and also for the customer that are not in the business field such as in the education field. The quantity of computer laptop sold will increase when this computer is recommended to all people with different work fields. Other opportunities of this company are to produce more colour of computer laptop. This company should fulfill the customer’s need in order to achieve goals during selling their product especially Compaq Evo N610c. The various colour of computer laptop will attract more new buyers to buy it and choose which one is the best. Besides, this company should make more promotion and sold this product in big towns and also small towns. Not all people in small towns are unable to buy and pay for a computer laptop. They may have their money saving in the bank accounts to purchase for a laptop.

Treats

The treats of this computer laptop are easily damaged when some liquid split onto it. This computer laptop is not a waterproof laptop because it will be damaged when some water split onto it. Customers can’t bring it along when they are sitting near a waterfall, river and sea. Besides, this computer will break down when exposed to high temperature. This computer laptop cannot withstand with high temperature and should be placed in cold or room temperature, in order to prevent it from broke down. Other treats of this computer laptop which decrease the Compaq’s laptop buyer is the condition of this laptop. This computer laptop is easily getting hot even though this laptop is just switch on. This computer laptop can’t operate in a long time period. This computer laptop is not included with cooling systems that necessary to prevent the laptop to be too hot. The customers will unsatisfied with this condition of computer laptop and refuse to buy it.
